1. If a student who wishes to switch to the thesis program meets the minimum requirements (Example: ALES score and GPA of at least 2.5), they submit the completed petition along with their academic advisor’s approval to the Department Chairmanship during the program transition period announced in the academic calendar, no later than the 3rd semester.

  2. If deemed appropriate by the Department Board, the request is transmitted from the Electronic Document Management System (EBYS) to the Institute.

  3. The application for transitioning to the thesis program is decided by the Institute Executive Board (EYK), and if accepted, the student is granted an additional period of time not exceeding 6 semesters, including the duration spent in the non-thesis program.

  4. The decision of the EYK is recorded in the Student Information System (SIS) and communicated to the student via email.

Note 1: The student is assigned a new student number due to the change of program. Note 2: Transition between Thesis and Non-Thesis Programs can only be made once throughout the educational process. Note 3: The alignment with the target program is based on content rather than the number of courses taken during the transition.
