The student can withdraw his/her relationship with the university at his/her own request by going to the Student Affairs Department and initiating the necessary procedure.

The tuition fee paid is non-refundable when the enrollment is withdrawn.

For the master’s program with thesis, a minimum score of 55 out of 100 in any type of ALES (Academic Personnel and Graduate Education Entrance Exam) (Quantitative, Verbal, and Equal Weight) is required within the last five years. The weighting of the ALES score, with a minimum of 55, and other aspects regarding the admission of students to postgraduate education are determined by the Senate.

For admission to PhD programs, a minimum score of 70 out of 100 in any type of ALES (Academic Personnel and Graduate Education Entrance Exam) (Quantitative, Verbal, and Equal Weight) is required within the last five years. You cannot apply to master’s or doctoral programs with thesis without your ALES score.

ALES score is not required for student admission to the Art and Design Program.

A non-thesis master’s student who successfully completes the credit courses and term project qualifies to receive a non-thesis master’s diploma. For a thesis-based master’s student, upon successful completion of the thesis defense and meeting other graduation requirements determined by the Senate, and submitting at least three hardbound copies of the master’s thesis to the relevant institute within one month from the date of the thesis defense, the student is eligible to receive a thesis-based master’s diploma, provided that the thesis meets the required standards.

Diploma supplement accompanies the higher education diploma and provides standard information about the level, context, content, and status of the holder’s studies. The Diploma Supplement is issued free of charge to graduates by our university.

The Diploma Supplement consists of eight sections expressing the following elements:

1. Identification of the holder of the qualification: Name and surname of the person entitled to the Diploma Supplement.
2. Information identifying the qualification: Description of the qualification, including the title, level, and field of study.
3. Information on the level of the qualification: Details about the level of the qualification in the national education system.
4. Information on the contents and results gained: Description of the content, structure, and outcomes of the studies that led to the award of the qualification.
5. Function of the qualification: Information on the purpose and function of the qualification.
6. Additional information: Any additional information not covered in the previous sections but relevant to the qualification.
7. Certification of the Diploma Supplement: Official confirmation of the Diploma Supplement by the issuing institution.
8. Information on the national higher education system: Information about the national higher education system and its place in the European Higher Education Area.

Example of a Diploma Supplement (for Master’s Programs)

It is a document stating that they have graduated, given to graduates whose diplomas have not yet been issued.

You can pickit from the Student Affairs Department located at the main campus, Mahmutbey campus.

The diploma can only be handed over to the student after identity verification. However, an authorized person, with a notarized power of attorney, can collect it on behalf of the student.

In accepting students to the PhD program, it is mandatory to get at least 55 points from the international foreign language exams accepted as equivalent to the central foreign language exams accepted by the Council of Higher Education, other than their mother tongue, or an equivalent score from the international foreign language exams accepted as equivalent by ÖSYM, and these minimum scores must be obtained according to the programs to be entered. The university senates decide whether to raise it, if necessary, according to its characteristics.

Individuals applying to the PhD program with a bachelor’s degree must have a minimum GPA of 3 on a 4-point scale or its equivalent and, with the condition set by the Senate, they must have a score in the Academic Personnel and Graduate Education Entrance Exam (ALES) not lower than the score determined by the Senate for the relevant program, provided that it is at least 80 in the type of ALES score related to the applied program.

The criteria for this evaluation, as well as the application requirements and other matters related to student admissions, are determined by the regulations issued by the relevant Senate.

For admission to the PhD program, candidates must obtain a minimum score of 55 from central foreign language exams accepted by the Higher Education Board (YÖK) for languages other than their mother tongue, or an equivalent score from internationally recognized foreign language exams. It is mandatory to obtain this score or its equivalent from internationally recognized foreign language exams accepted by the Student Selection and Placement Center (ÖSYM). The university senates may decide to raise these minimum scores if necessary, depending on the characteristics of the programs to be entered.

For students accepted to the PhD program with a master’s degree with thesis, a total of twenty-one credits and at least 240 ECTS, including at least seven courses, seminars, qualifying exams, thesis proposal and thesis study, provided that it is not less than 60 ECTS in one academic semester. It consists of credit. For students accepted with a bachelor’s degree, it consists of a total of at least 300 ECTS credits, including fourteen courses of at least forty-two credits, a seminar, a qualifying exam, a thesis proposal and a thesis study.

For postgraduate programs conducted in English, a minimum score of 55 from KPDS/ÜDS/YDS or an equivalent score from an internationally recognized exam (such as TOEFL IBT, TOEFL CBT, TOEFL PBT) is required.
